Brighton Contractor and Directors Fined £75k for Death of 24 year old Man.
|

Brighton Contractor PIB (UK) Limited and two of its Directors, pleaded guilty of breaching Health and Safety legislation.
Lewes Crown Court heard how the 24 year old man fell more than 2 metres into a basement courtyard having wandered on to an insecure building site.

Steven Moore, a Director of the Company was fined £30,000, ordered to pay & pound;6,500 and disqualified from being a Director for 5 years for breaching the Health & Safety at Work Act.
John Blankson, Director and Client for the property that was being remodelled into 5 new apartments, was fined £15,000 and ordered to pay more than £3,400 for breaching the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE), who brought the prosecution, is calling on all building clients who have work done for them to ensure that they are familiar with the law and that they also ensure that precautionary measures are put into place before work starts. |
