Nightclub revellers are trapped and trampled upon during the 15th Anniversary of the Lame Horse Nightclub fire in Perm, Russia.
The fire started when fireworks set off inside of the hall set light to the wicker drapes suspended from the ceiling producing hot toxic fumes which killed many of the party revellers.
The hot burning drapes fell down on top of the crowd celebrating the nightclub’s anniversary igniting their clothes, engulfing them in flames.
The evacuation from the hall was severely hampered because one door of each of the double doors was bolted shut reducing the available exits by half.

In the panic to escape through the narrow exits, many were trampled upon in the stampede.
A serious lack of fire enforcement and fire safety procedures were to blame for this tragedy.
