No.17, Fire Safety - A Serious Burning Issue, last updated on: 30/11/2009
Fire Safety – A Serious Burning Issue.

The construction site fire in Carisbrook Gardens last week highlights the need for employers to take fire safety and risk management seriously.
The fire which took hold in the early hours of Thursday, 26th November 2009, completely destroyed the building being constructed causing thousands of pounds in damage as well as months in lost time.
The ferocity of the fire also damaged neighbouring properties which forced over 300 residents from their homes.

Failing to take fire safety seriously costs more than lives!
Employers, owners and landlords have a legal statutory duty to carry out a suitable and sufficient risk assessment of their premises to identify the hazards already present, as well as those hazards introduced by the work processes undertaken and to assess the risk to all persons in and around the buildings that are owned or controlled by them.
Failure by the employer, owner or landlord to comply may result in:
• Enforcement Notices
• Prohibition Notices
• Magistrate or Crown Court Fines
• Injury Compensation Claims
• Increased Insurance Premiums
• Loss of Business and Clients

At Tennyson Suite Limited, we conduct Fire Risk Assessments detailing the precautions and additional controls required to meet the minimum compliance required by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
In addition, we provide user-friendly registers to assist the Employer meet their requirements and present the legally compliant documents in our Fire Safety and Risk Management Folder for immediate and continued use.
Add to this the on-line facility for the documents produced that is private to the end user which they can download, our keen and competitive rates for our professional service is hard to beat.
